Coinbase Devs Don Launch x402 Protocol to Make Autonomous AI Agents Fit Do On-Chain Stablecoin Payments for Ethereum
Two Coinbase developers, Kevin Leffew and Lincoln Murr, don bring back di old HTTP 402 web standard plus Ethereum Improvement Proposal 3009 (EIP-3009) to make on-chain stablecoin payments possible by autonomous AI agents. Their x402 payments protocol dey let AI agents dey request, sign and finish ETH-based stablecoin payments by themselves for things like self-driving cars, content generation tools, and trading bots. Early work by Hyperbolic Labs and Prodia Labs combine HTTP 402 with big language models and AI-powered image/video generation. The solution use Ethereum’s programmable settlement layer, trustless transactions, and atomic payments to make invoicing and dispute resolution easy, e fit make AI agents big users and big energy consumers on the network.
Bullish
Di introduksen di x402 protocol, wey dem build on top di HTTP 402 and EIP-3009, create new kain use case for autonomous AI agents to run stablecoin payments for Ethereum. Dis one fit make on-chain transaction dem increase plus demand for gas fee go high, wey go benefit ETH for both short term and long term. Di early integration wey Hyperbolic Labs and Prodia Labs do show say developers dey interested, plus di chance say AI agents fit become big network users mean say di usage and energy wey dem go use no go stop. Overall, dis innovation make Ethereum better as programmable settlement layer, wey mean say ETH adoption and price fit get good outlook.
