Aptos Burns 174,570 APT, but Supply Keeps Growing

Aptos burned about 174,570 APT through transaction fees in the latest 30-day period, up slightly from an earlier estimate of about 174,195 APT. Cumulative burns since the network’s 2022 mainnet launch have reached about 1.9 million APT. Higher gas fees in 2026 have accelerated token burns, although average transaction fees remain low, at roughly $0.0005–$0.0006. Monthly staking emissions of about 1.5 million APT still exceed burns, adding roughly 1.4 million APT to net supply. APT therefore remains inflationary, not deflationary, at current activity levels. Traders should track the burn-to-issuance balance, transaction activity, staking rewards, token unlocks and any governance changes to the temporary 2.1 billion APT supply cap.
Bearish
The figures point to continued net APT supply growth: monthly staking emissions of about 1.5 million tokens substantially exceed roughly 174,570 APT burned over 30 days. That imbalance may create a persistent supply overhang and is mildly bearish for APT, particularly if demand and transaction activity do not grow enough to absorb new issuance. In the short term, the burn update alone is unlikely to dictate price; traders may focus more on market conditions, token unlocks and demand. Over the longer term, sustained growth in network usage could increase fee burns, but current low fees and burn levels do not offset staking rewards. Changes to staking emissions or the temporary supply cap could also alter the outlook, so the burn-to-issuance trend is more informative than the burn figure in isolation.
