Avail Launches ShieldTX to Protect Hyperliquid Trades from Copycats
Avail has launched ShieldTX, a privacy tool for Hyperliquid traders. ShieldTX creates a separate wallet for each perpetual-futures position, making it harder for on-chain copy-trading bots to link trades and replicate strategies. The tool aims to reduce the execution costs that can arise when traders are copied.
Research shared by ShieldTX with The Block analyzed 332,317 Hyperliquid wallets and examined seven top-100 traders alongside suspected copycat wallets. It estimated that copied traders faced a median additional cost of 63 basis points per trade due to execution-price effects. About 29% of Hyperliquid’s top 150 accounts use subaccounts, but those wallets may still be linked on-chain. ShieldTX adds another privacy option for Hyperliquid traders, though the reported figures are estimates from a limited sample.
Neutral
The launch is primarily a product and infrastructure development, rather than a direct catalyst for cryptocurrency prices. ShieldTX may help Hyperliquid traders limit wallet-linking and copy trading, potentially improving execution conditions for users whose strategies attract followers. The reported median 63-basis-point cost suggests the issue could matter to active traders, but it is based on a limited sample and does not establish a market-wide effect.
In the short term, trading implications are likely to be concentrated among Hyperliquid users evaluating privacy tools; any effect on HYPE or AVAIL would depend on adoption, user activity and broader market conditions. Similar privacy-focused product launches have generally required evidence of sustained usage before influencing token valuations. Over the longer term, stronger transaction privacy could support trader retention and platform differentiation, while also drawing greater scrutiny around transparency and compliance. On balance, the news is neutral for the wider crypto market, with possible platform-specific benefits if ShieldTX gains traction.
