Bitcoin Below $84K as Futures Buying Weakens
Bitcoin has slipped below $84,000 after failing to extend its recovery towards $90,000. Earlier, Bitcoin had rebounded from around $60,000, broken above $75,000 and formed higher highs and higher lows. The later pullback, a break below a short-term trendline and weaker futures buying now point to consolidation and softer near-term momentum.
Resistance remains around $86,000-$88,000, with $88,000 repeatedly capping gains. A convincing break above that level could open a path towards $96,000. On the downside, $84,000 is a key short-term level; a sustained break lower could expose support around $82,000 and then the $75,000-$78,000 zone. A fall towards $70,000 would weaken the wider recovery, though it would not necessarily invalidate it. The 100-day and 200-day moving averages are near $72,000.
Short-term indicators have also cooled. The four-hour RSI is around 38, while the futures taker buy/sell ratio has fallen to about 0.994, suggesting aggressive buyers no longer dominate. An earlier improvement in 90-day futures taker CVD had indicated renewed buying, but the latest ratio points to subdued demand. Traders are watching whether Bitcoin can reclaim $84,000 and retest resistance, or whether continued weak buying leads to a deeper pullback.
Neutral
The combined signals point to a mixed outlook for Bitcoin. The earlier recovery from around $60,000, higher highs and higher lows, and price above the 100-day and 200-day moving averages support the broader structure. The earlier improvement in futures taker CVD also suggested renewed buying interest. However, the latest price below $84,000, the loss of a short-term trendline, an RSI near 38 and a taker buy/sell ratio of about 0.994 indicate weaker near-term demand. Repeated rejection at $86,000-$88,000 makes a bullish breakout less convincing without a recovery in buying pressure.
In the short term, holding or reclaiming $84,000 could stabilise Bitcoin and allow another test of resistance. A sustained move below it would increase the chance of a pullback towards $82,000 and the $75,000-$78,000 support zone. Over the longer term, the moving averages near $72,000 and the broader recovery structure offer support, although a fall towards $70,000 would weaken that picture. With constructive longer-term levels offset by soft momentum and subdued futures buying, the evidence does not clearly favour a sustained move in either direction.
