Bitcoin ETFs Gain $527M as Ether Funds See Outflows
US spot Bitcoin ETFs recorded $526.7 million in net inflows on Monday, their strongest daily total since September 22, according to Farside Investors. BlackRock’s IBIT led with $665.2 million, offsetting outflows from Fidelity’s FBTC ($83.6 million) and Grayscale’s GBTC ($54.9 million); other funds reported no net flows. The rebound reversed Friday’s $82.4 million in withdrawals, but Bitcoin ETFs remain about $88 million in net outflows for October after two consecutive weeks of weekly withdrawals. Bitcoin traded between $78,700 and $82,800. By contrast, spot Ether ETFs lost $103.3 million on Monday, including $95.4 million from BlackRock’s ETHA, and have seen three straight weeks of withdrawals. The flows suggest stronger relative demand for Bitcoin than Ether, but ETF flows alone do not determine price direction.
Bullish
The large single-day inflow into spot Bitcoin ETFs, led by BlackRock’s IBIT, may support Bitcoin sentiment and create short-term buying pressure as traders interpret it as renewed institutional demand. Bitcoin’s relative strength versus Ether is also reinforced by the contrasting ETF flows. However, the signal is mixed: Bitcoin ETFs remain net outflows for October after two weeks of withdrawals, and one day of strong inflows does not establish a lasting trend. ETF flows can reflect allocation changes rather than direct spot-market buying, while broader market conditions and price action remain important. Over the longer term, sustained inflows could support demand and improve confidence, but traders should look for consecutive positive flow sessions and confirmation from Bitcoin’s price and trading volume.
