Bitcoin Price Prediction: Citi Raises Target to $113K

Bitcoin price prediction has become more bullish after Citi raised its 12-month Bitcoin target to $113,000 from $82,000. The bank cited stronger crypto activity, improving macroeconomic conditions and renewed institutional demand. Bitcoin initially traded near $85,380 after softer-than-expected US inflation reduced expectations of another Federal Reserve rate hike. It later climbed to about $86,885, up 2.7%, after weak US payroll data and cautious Fed comments lowered expectations of an October rate increase. September payrolls rose by just 29,000, below the 90,000 forecast, while the 10-year Treasury yield moved towards 5.17%. Bitcoin has broken above the mid-$80,000 area, which acted as resistance in September. The next key test is $90,000. A sustained break could put $100,000 back in focus and strengthen the path towards Citi’s $113,000 forecast, which would require a further gain of roughly 30% from the later reported price. However, Bitcoin price prediction risks remain. Spot Bitcoin ETFs attracted more than $2.2 billion over four consecutive sessions in late September, but flows later reversed. US spot Bitcoin ETFs recorded $148.7 million in net outflows in one session and a further $92.9 million on October 1. Traders should monitor the $90,000 breakout, ETF flows and further Federal Reserve signals. A confirmed breakout and renewed institutional demand would support the bullish case, while persistent outflows could keep BTC range-bound or trigger a pullback.
Bullish
The news is bullish for BTC because Citi’s higher $113,000 target, improving macroeconomic expectations and weaker employment data could support demand for risk assets. Lower expectations for an October Federal Reserve rate hike may also reduce pressure on Bitcoin in the short term. The move above the mid-$80,000 resistance area improves the technical structure, with $90,000 serving as the next major trigger. A sustained break could attract momentum traders and bring $100,000 into focus. The bullish view is not conclusive. Spot Bitcoin ETF outflows after a strong late-September inflow streak show that institutional demand has not yet confirmed the rally. Failure to clear $90,000, renewed Treasury-yield pressure or more cautious Fed guidance could prompt profit-taking and keep BTC range-bound. In the longer term, persistent ETF inflows would help absorb supply and support Citi’s target, while continued outflows would weaken the setup. Overall, the immediate bias is bullish, but traders should treat the $90,000 breakout and ETF flows as confirmation signals.
