Bitcoin: Calacanis Predicts $57,000, Urges AI Shift
Angel investor Jason Calacanis urged investors to sell Bitcoin and shift funds to artificial intelligence, calling Bitcoin a “dead network.” In a post on X on October 27, 2026, he predicted BTC could revisit $57,000 within 12 months—the low it reached earlier in 2026—and claimed it would never set another all-time high. The target is about 28% below the roughly $79,600 price cited in the earlier report.
Calacanis cited declining investor enthusiasm and spot Bitcoin ETF outflows as reasons for his bearish view. The reported flows were mixed, however: ETFs saw about $774 million in outflows on Thursday and Friday, followed by a $110 million inflow on Monday. He argued that AI has greater potential to create value and said he still holds TAO, Bittensor’s token, as an investment in AI infrastructure. His Bitcoin forecast is an individual opinion, not a confirmed market trend.
Bearish
The news is bearish for Bitcoin because a prominent investor’s call to sell, alongside a forecast of a fall to $57,000 and doubts about another all-time high, could weigh on sentiment and encourage short-term selling. ETF outflows may reinforce that pressure if they persist. However, the reported $110 million inflow shows flows are not uniformly negative, and one investor’s prediction does not establish a market trend. Over the longer term, Bitcoin’s price will depend on broader demand, ETF activity, liquidity and macroeconomic conditions; Calacanis’s view alone is unlikely to determine market stability.
