Swift Uses Chainlink to Share Tokenized “Golden Record” Across DTCC, Euroclear

Swift has completed a live digital asset interoperability milestone with Chainlink, focusing on tokenized bonds and cross-chain settlement. The trial showed Swift can orchestrate transactions across blockchains and existing enterprise systems without a test setup. Major participants included BNP Paribas Securities Services, Intesa Sanpaolo, and Société Générale (FORGE), alongside Citi and BNY Mellon. The work builds on earlier Swift–Chainlink–UBS interoperability using existing payment rails. At Sibos 2025, Chainlink and 24 financial institutions (including Swift, DTCC, Euroclear, UBS, and Wellington Management) advanced corporate actions processing in Phase 2. A new workflow introduced AI “data attestors” and “data contributors” to validate and enrich records, reportedly achieving 100% accuracy for confirmed data. On the blockchain side, Chainlink Runtime Environment validated multiple AI outputs, converted results into ISO 20022-compliant messages, and sent them to the Swift network. Then Chainlink CCIP distributed the same confirmed “golden record” across DTCC’s blockchain ecosystem and other public/private chains simultaneously, including multilingual disclosures. The goal is to fix the “onchain golden record” problem in corporate actions: messy, delayed, or inconsistent data becomes an attested single source for smart contracts, custodians, and post-trade systems. The framework also integrates GLEIF identity via verifiable Legal Entity Identifiers (vLEIs) for programmatic provenance and compliance checks. For crypto traders, this strengthens the RWA and corporate-actions infrastructure narrative around Swift-integrated interoperability, which can be viewed as a modestly bullish signal for Chainlink-linked ecosystem demand (not a direct token catalyst).
Bullish
Swift and Chainlink’s live interoperability trial is a concrete RWA infrastructure upgrade: tokenized bonds settlement plus an “onchain golden record” for corporate actions. The Phase 2 workflow (AI data attestors/contributors) and ISO 20022 message conversion reduce operational friction and improve data consistency across DTCC/Euroclear-related ecosystems. Short term, traders may interpret this as positive ecosystem momentum for Chainlink’s role in cross-chain data distribution and attestation—supportive for sentiment rather than an immediate price shock. Long term, if these corporate-actions processes scale across more institutions and jurisdictions, it strengthens the credibility of blockchain-based post-trade automation, which can gradually improve market expectations. Because this is largely infrastructure/enterprise adoption and not a direct protocol/token supply catalyst, the impact should be modest, hence a bullish but not explosive view.
