Circle Revenue Hits $1.4B as USDC Redemptions Expand

Circle reported about $1.4 billion in revenue in the first half of 2026, with USDC on-chain settlement volume exceeding $36 trillion. USDC minting and redemptions totalled more than $315 billion, averaging about $1.7 billion a day. In June, USDC represented around 77% of global stablecoin transaction volume, up from 60% a year earlier. Circle spent about $819 million, or 59% of revenue, on distribution partners and transaction costs, and $473 million, or 34%, on infrastructure such as licensing, liquidity, compliance and product development. More than 150 partners share in USDC revenue, leaving a net margin of around 7%. Circle says standard USDC redemptions are free and usually settle within two business days. Eligible customers using Circle’s platform or Circle Payments Network can now redeem USDC free of charge around the clock with near-instant processing. The update comes amid criticism from newer stablecoin issuers over redemption costs and how incumbents distribute yield. The expanded access and strong settlement figures could support USDC adoption, although they do not directly change its dollar peg.
Neutral
The news is positive for USDC’s utility and adoption, but its direct price impact is likely neutral. USDC is designed to track the US dollar, so higher settlement volumes and easier redemptions are more likely to affect usage and confidence than create sustained price appreciation. In the short term, round-the-clock, near-instant redemptions may reassure traders about access to liquidity and help USDC maintain its peg during periods of market stress. Over the longer term, rising transaction share and broader access could strengthen USDC’s role in trading and payments. However, the reported spending on distribution and infrastructure, alongside a roughly 7% net margin, highlights the costs of maintaining that network and does not itself signal a change in USDC’s supply or peg. Traders should monitor actual flows, reserve and redemption conditions, and any deviation from the dollar peg.
