CoinFello: HyperPlay’s Self-Sovereign AI for DeFi Automation

HyperPlay Labs has introduced CoinFello, the first self-sovereign AI agent designed to automate any smart contract on EVM-compatible blockchains. Unveiled at DevConnect in Buenos Aires, CoinFello uses a plain-language chat interface to understand on-chain context and execute user intents, such as reallocating assets to avoid liquidation or swapping tokens across chains. Built on EigenCloud and MetaMask Smart Accounts Kit, the app maintains full user custody by delegating permissions to an existing or newly created MetaMask wallet. CoinFello addresses key DeFi UX challenges—protocol discovery, gas fee management, contract transparency, and cross-chain transactions—by abstracting complex operations into simple commands like “Sell my meme coins for ETH.” All actions are presented for user approval before execution. Currently in private alpha, CoinFello has opened its waitlist ahead of its public release scheduled for Q1 2026. The self-sovereign AI agent aims to enhance DeFi UX, drive mainstream adoption, and boost engagement on the Ethereum network.
Bullish
The launch of CoinFello, a self-sovereign AI for smart contract automation, is likely to boost Ethereum network activity and DeFi adoption. In the short term, the novelty and private alpha release can drive more users to test the platform, increasing ETH gas fees and on-chain transactions. Over the long term, improved DeFi UX and mainstream uptake could expand the Ethereum ecosystem, underpinning steady demand for ETH and reinforcing network growth.
