Crypto Market Watch: Meme-Coin Risks, Ritual and Predict.fun
The crypto market faces mixed signals from a new research roundup covering meme-coin trading, AI infrastructure and token launches. On Pump.fun, an on-chain investigation identified a network of 43 wallets that allegedly launched more than 6,855 meme coins since January 2026, bundled buys and sold developer holdings within seconds. Profits were routed to a wallet holding about $1.03 million in USDC, highlighting risks for traders chasing new launches.
AI-focused Layer 1 Ritual launched its mainnet and RITUAL token on 26 October. The token fell from an early high of $0.08 to about $0.0226, with a reported fully diluted valuation of roughly $220 million. Its initial supply is 10 billion, and 18% unlocked at launch; emissions, future unlocks and whether network fees can support demand remain key factors.
Predict.fun announced tokenomics for its PREDICT token: a fixed supply of 1 billion, with 16% circulating at launch. Season 1 users were allocated 70 million tokens, but can claim only 35% immediately or receive the full allocation through 12-month linear vesting. The platform reported $4.01 billion in 30-day trading volume and $10.17 million in TVL as of 28 October. Separately, 29 user accounts reportedly lost about $397,000 in USDT in an incident under investigation.
The roundup also warns that AI data-centre investment could outpace real demand, creating financing and valuation risks for GPU suppliers and customers. Together, these developments leave the crypto market sensitive to token unlocks, security concerns, speculative trading and signs of sustainable demand.
Neutral
The overall impact is neutral because the roundup combines project launches and active trading with material risks, but does not describe a broad market-moving catalyst. In the short term, traders may react bearishly to RITUAL’s sharp post-launch decline, PREDICT’s upcoming distribution and vesting choices, and the reported Predict.fun account losses. Such events can increase volatility, encourage profit-taking and make traders more cautious toward newly launched tokens. The alleged Pump.fun wallet network also reinforces the risk of rapid, coordinated selling in low-liquidity meme coins.
There are countervailing factors. Ritual’s mainnet launch and Predict.fun’s reported trading activity could attract interest if usage and fee generation prove durable. However, token supply schedules, actual liquidity and security remediation are likely to matter more than launch narratives. The AI infrastructure warning is a broader risk signal: as in past technology investment booms, infrastructure can prove valuable over time while early investors and highly leveraged customers still suffer if demand arrives later than expected. Traders should monitor token prices and liquidity, unlock calendars, on-chain activity, protocol revenue, security updates and evidence of sustained AI-compute demand. These mixed signals support a neutral market view, with elevated downside risk in speculative assets.
