Five DeFi Projects Expand On-Chain Yield and Trading
Five early-stage DeFi projects are developing new approaches to on-chain yield and trading. The later roundup adds IRIS and RISEx to the projects covered earlier, alongside Mezzanine, INFINIT and Boros. Together, these DeFi projects span structured-yield vaults, fixed-rate lending, perpetual futures and funding-rate markets; adoption and risks remain uncertain.
Mezzanine is developing risk-tiered vaults, where junior deposits would absorb losses first in exchange for a larger share of returns. Its planned Hastra Optimizer Vault would route USDC or wYLDS through leveraged strategies on Morpho and Kamino. The project says its contracts have been audited and formally verified, but the vault is not live and its yield allocation remains undisclosed.
INFINIT’s APEX MultiStrategy vault traded on Hyperliquid for 82 days, returning 7.18% on about $506,100 in deposits through 20 October. The app showed a 31.94% annualised return, below the manager’s earlier 40%–90% estimate. The first vault was scheduled to open for withdrawals on 28 October, with another deposit window planned for 28 October to 11 November. Past returns do not guarantee future performance.
The later report adds IRIS, which aims to offer fixed-rate, fixed-term loans using Morpho Blue and Aave V3 without creating separate lending pools. It has not disclosed usage figures or a token. RISEx operates an on-chain perpetual order book on the RISE network, with 43 markets and about $39 million in open interest reported. Mainnet access remained restricted and no token had launched.
Boros offers leveraged markets for trading fixed implied yields against variable perpetual-futures funding rates. It added BTC and ETH funding-rate spread markets tracking Hyperliquid versus Gate. The later report said short-spread quotes implied launch APRs of around 25%–35%. Traders can use these markets to speculate on funding-rate differences or hedge positions across venues; the open-source CrossEx tool estimates potential net yields after fees and slippage.
These DeFi projects broaden the range of yield and hedging strategies available to traders. However, early-stage adoption, leverage, liquidity, smart-contract security and strategy performance remain important risks.
Neutral
The news is a roundup of several projects rather than a direct catalyst for a specific cryptocurrency. It reports planned products, performance figures and market features, but provides no evidence of a broad change in demand for BTC, ETH or another named asset. The projects’ tokens are also either unspecified or not yet launched, limiting any direct price implication.
In the short term, traders may monitor the reported INFINIT vault returns and Boros funding-rate markets for activity, but returns below earlier estimates and the risks of leverage, liquidity constraints and smart-contract failure could temper enthusiasm. The 25%–35% implied APR cited for Boros is a market quote, not a guaranteed return.
Over the longer term, successful adoption could improve on-chain access to yield, lending and hedging, potentially supporting DeFi activity. Conversely, weak performance, limited liquidity or security incidents could reduce confidence. Since these outcomes remain uncertain and the article does not establish a direct effect on a particular coin’s price, the overall price-impact assessment is neutral.
