Ethereum Celebrates 10-Year Milestone with Global Events & NFT
On July 30, 2025, the Ethereum community celebrated the ten-year anniversary of its genesis block and mainnet launch. Over 100 ecosystem-led events took place across six continents, including meetups, workshops, art shows and hackathons. The Ethereum Foundation hosted a livestream featuring co-founders Vitalik Buterin and Joseph Lubin, Co-Executive Directors Hsiao-Wei Wang and Tomasz Stańczak, and talks on the Ethereum roadmap.
To mark the milestone, an exclusive “Ethereum Torch” NFT was launched. The commemorative token passed through ten designated torchbearer wallets in the days leading up to the anniversary and was made available for a free, 50-hour public mint. This limited-edition NFT symbolizes a full day across the world with Ethereum and honours the values that shaped the ecosystem.
Looking ahead, community members shared moonshot ideas for the next decade, highlighting opportunities in AI, biotech, governance and decentralized finance. The celebrations underscore Ethereum’s evolution from a whitepaper to a global decentralized platform powering thousands of applications.
Neutral
A decade-long anniversary celebration enhances community sentiment but does not directly introduce new protocols or upgrades that affect network fundamentals. While the global events and NFT launch can drive short-term engagement and trading volume for ETH, similar past milestones—like Bitcoin’s 10th anniversary—have shown only modest, temporary price movements. Long-term, reaffirming the Ethereum roadmap may boost developer confidence and institutional interest, but traders should view this commemoration as a neutral catalyst rather than a driver of sustained market shifts.
