Ethereum Foundation Seeks Feedback on Hegotá EIPs
The Ethereum Foundation’s App Enablement team is gathering protocol-team feedback on Ethereum Improvement Proposals (EIPs) and Layer 1 constraints, aiming to align Ethereum’s roadmap with application developers’ needs ahead of the Hegotá upgrade, expected in 2027.
The Ethereum Foundation Protocol Cluster assessed 62 proposals using 397 grades from about 60 researchers and engineers across nine teams. It ranked EIP-7805, or FOCIL, and EIP-8141, or Frame Transactions, in the top S-tier, identifying them as core Hegotá priorities. FOCIL is designed to strengthen censorship resistance, while Frame Transactions target account abstraction. Another 15 proposals received A-tier ratings and are expected to ship unless the upgrade’s scope is reduced. The cluster declined 28 proposals and documented its reasoning.
The feedback effort is intended to bring the needs of wallets, DeFi protocols, rollup operators and other developers into Ethereum protocol decisions. The process could shape Hegotá’s technical priorities, but the article reports no immediate network or market impact.
Neutral
The news is neutral for trading in the short term. It describes a protocol feedback and prioritisation process, not a confirmed upgrade deployment, change to network fees, or immediate shift in ETH demand. There are no market indicators in the article, such as price, trading volume, or on-chain activity, that suggest an immediate directional signal.
Longer term, the work could be constructive for Ethereum if Hegotá delivers improvements developers value. FOCIL’s focus on censorship resistance and Frame Transactions’ account-abstraction features may support ecosystem usability and resilience. However, the proposals are still part of an upgrade roadmap, and implementation, scope changes and adoption remain uncertain. As with past Ethereum upgrade announcements, technical milestones can raise attention and expectations, but market reactions tend to depend on delivery, broader risk appetite and whether changes affect usage or ETH economics. Traders are therefore more likely to monitor subsequent client-team decisions, implementation progress and network activity than treat this feedback exercise as a standalone buy or sell catalyst.
