Ethereum Spot ETFs Record $72.5M Outflow for Eighth Day
Ethereum spot ETFs recorded a net outflow of $72.54 million on 8 October, extending the outflow streak to eight days, according to SoSoValue. BlackRock’s ETHA led withdrawals with $71.12 million in net outflows, while Fidelity’s FETH recorded the largest inflow at $5.50 million. Morgan Stanley’s MSSE added $1.32 million. Despite the recent selling, Ethereum spot ETFs held $15.64 billion in net assets and had accumulated $13.32 billion in net inflows since launch.
Bearish
The eight-day run of net outflows from Ethereum spot ETFs is a short-term bearish signal. Persistent withdrawals can indicate weaker institutional demand and may add selling pressure or weigh on trader sentiment, particularly because BlackRock’s ETHA accounted for most of the latest day’s outflow. Similar ETF-flow episodes have often influenced short-term sentiment, although flows alone do not determine ETH’s price direction.
The signal is not uniformly negative: Fidelity’s FETH and Morgan Stanley’s MSSE still attracted inflows, and the funds retain $15.64 billion in net assets with $13.32 billion in cumulative net inflows. Traders should therefore treat the data as a warning of near-term demand softness, not confirmation of a lasting reversal. ETH price action, broader risk appetite, fund flows in subsequent sessions and derivatives positioning will help determine whether the outflow streak becomes a sustained bearish trend or a temporary pause in institutional buying.
