eToro Launches Ethereum Tokenized Trading for 100 US Stocks

eToro has introduced 24/5 tokenized trading for 100 US-listed stocks on Ethereum. The platform will issue these equities as ERC-20 tokens, allowing users to trade traditional stocks around the clock and respond to market events in real time. CEO Yoni Assia emphasized blockchain’s role in facilitating the largest-ever transfer of wealth as traditional assets move on-chain. He noted that new regulations, including Europe’s MiCA framework and the US GENIUS Act, create opportunities for legally backed tokenization. eToro plans to eventually tokenize all assets and integrate them into the broader DeFi ecosystem. Rival Robinhood recently launched over 200 tokenized US stocks and ETFs for European customers. On-chain real-world asset (RWA) value has reached $21.4 billion, with 55% on Ethereum, highlighting the network’s leading role in this growing market.
Bullish
This announcement is bullish for Ethereum and the tokenization sector. By enabling 24/5 trading of ERC-20 stock tokens, eToro expands the use cases for Ethereum and may drive demand for ETH-based transactions. Similar moves by Robinhood in Europe have increased market attention and trading volume for tokenized assets. In the short term, increased platform activity could boost network fees and ETH usage. Over the long term, regulated tokenization fosters institutional participation and strengthens Ethereum’s position in real-world asset markets. Regulatory support through MiCA and the GENIUS Act also reduces legal uncertainty, further encouraging adoption. Overall, this development underpins positive fundamentals for Ethereum and supports a bullish outlook for tokenized securities trading.
