Evernorth to Deploy 473 Million XRP With Four Firms
Evernorth has selected Ripple, Kraken, Coinbase and BitGo to support investment strategies for its 473 million XRP treasury, valued at about $648 million. The company plans to begin phased deployment in the fourth quarter of 2026, aiming to generate returns while increasing the amount of XRP held per share.
Chief investment officer Hugo Jeandesboz will oversee allocation, liquidity and counterparty relationships. The initial phase will use established institutional counterparties. Evernorth may later explore lending, credit markets and other yield strategies on the XRP Ledger, but native lending features must first receive validator approval and prove reliable. The plans are also subject to customary closing conditions and required approvals.
For XRP traders, the partnerships could support longer-term institutional demand and broaden the token’s use in investment strategies. However, deployment is not imminent, and on-chain lending remains conditional. Traders will be watching the launch schedule, the amount of XRP deployed and disclosed risks and returns.
Bullish
The news is modestly bullish for XRP over the longer term because Evernorth plans to put a large treasury to work and has named established institutional firms to support its strategy. If deployed as planned, the capital could add demand for XRP and demonstrate its use in institutional investment and yield strategies.
The near-term price effect may be limited: deployment is scheduled for Q4 2026, and lending on the XRP Ledger depends on validator approval and reliable operation. Closing conditions and approvals also remain outstanding. Traders may respond positively to the institutional commitments, but the announcement alone does not confirm immediate buying or guaranteed returns. The size and timing of actual deployments, market liquidity, and any disclosed risks will be important signals.
