Evernorth XRP Treasury Deal Clears Nasdaq Listing
Ripple-backed Evernorth has secured shareholder approval to merge with Armada Acquisition Corp. II, clearing a key step toward becoming Nasdaq’s first publicly traded pure-XRP treasury company. The deal is expected to close on October 7, with shares scheduled to begin trading under the XRPN ticker on October 8, subject to final conditions.
The transaction and related private placements raised more than $1 billion. Evernorth expects to have about $300 million in cash at closing, including funds from private placements, convertible notes and Armada’s trust. It also expects to hold approximately 473 million XRP, worth about $724 million at an XRP price of $1.53.
Unlike a passive XRP investment vehicle, Evernorth plans to deploy capital on the XRP Ledger through lending, liquidity provision, DeFi yield strategies and other capital-market activities. XRPL validator Vet said the strategy could increase institutional participation, XRP liquidity and on-chain activity. However, community members cautioned that the plan is not an immediate price signal. Traders should monitor the merger closing, the XRPN debut, further XRP purchases and evidence of actual XRP Ledger activity. The development is potentially bullish for XRP’s long-term adoption, while short-term price action may remain sensitive to execution, broader market conditions and speculation.
Bullish
The news is bullish for XRP mainly over the longer term. Evernorth expects to hold about 473 million XRP and could create additional institutional demand through a publicly traded Nasdaq vehicle. Its planned lending, liquidity and DeFi strategies may also increase XRP Ledger usage, market liquidity and visibility.
The immediate price impact is less certain. The transaction has not yet fully closed, XRPN has not begun trading, and the company’s strategy depends on execution. Traders may initially buy the news or speculate around the listing, but historical crypto treasury launches often produce volatile, short-term reactions that can fade if expected purchases or on-chain activity do not materialise. Broader market direction, XRP liquidity and confirmation of Evernorth’s actual XRP deployment will be key. Overall, the development supports a bullish long-term outlook, while near-term trading conditions may remain volatile rather than providing a guaranteed price catalyst.
