Gate to Launch 10 Stock Perpetual Contracts, Including Six Taiwan Stocks
Gate will launch 10 new stock perpetual contracts in its stock-contracts section at 14:00 on 5 November (UTC+8). The listings include Occidental Petroleum (OXY), Cheniere Energy (LNG), XP (XP) and Wuxi Biologics (WUXIBIO), plus six Taiwan-listed companies: Delta Electronics (TWDELTA), ASE Technology (TWASX), United Microelectronics (TWUMC), Nanya Technology (NANYA), Winbond (WINBOND) and Yageo (YAGEO). The USDT-settled stock perpetual contracts will support long and short positions with leverage of 1x to 20x. Trading bots and copy-trading features are expected to become available within an hour of launch. Gate says it will then offer 511 stock perpetual contracts. The expansion adds exposure to energy, biotech, Taiwan semiconductor and electronics shares; it does not directly change the fundamentals of the cryptocurrency market.
Neutral
The announcement is a product expansion by Gate, rather than a change to crypto market fundamentals, token supply or network activity. Its direct impact on cryptocurrency prices and market stability is therefore likely to be limited. In the short term, it may draw attention to Gate’s equity-linked derivatives and encourage some traders to use the platform’s USDT-settled products, but the announcement alone does not indicate a significant shift in crypto demand or liquidity. Similar exchange listings and additions of tradable markets have generally affected access to specific instruments more than the broader crypto market. Longer term, the expansion may strengthen Gate’s position as a multi-asset trading venue and increase competition among exchanges. Any wider effect would depend on actual trading volume, liquidity and user adoption, none of which are reported here. Traders should also account for the risks of leveraged stock perpetuals, including amplified losses and price moves linked to the underlying shares.
