Ghost gift subscriptions get longer options and personalized email delivery
Ghost is improving its gift subscriptions so buying a gift feels more personal and requires less effort from the buyer. At checkout, buyers can add a message and choose the delivery day. Ghost sends the gift via email automatically, and the subscription starts only when the recipient redeems it—so a 12-month gift redeemed on Christmas runs through next Christmas. Buyers receive confirmations for scheduling and a delivery heads-up.
Ghost also adds more gift lengths: new 3-month and 6-month options join existing 1-month and 1-year gifts. Pricing is calculated automatically from existing membership tiers, removing the need to configure separate gift pricing.
For distribution, Ghost now shows a gift option on the signup page and in member accounts. Both entry points are enabled by default but can be managed in Ghost Admin (Settings → Portal). Ghost(Pro) users can access the feature immediately; self-hosters must update to the latest Ghost version to receive the changes.
