GRVT Burns 1.1M Tokens Ahead of Grvt 2.0

GRVT’s token issuer has completed its first open-market buyback, purchasing and permanently burning 1.1 million GRVT tokens—nearly 1% of circulating supply at the time. The issuer says it may make further monthly buybacks, but the purchases are discretionary, with no guaranteed schedule or amount. Transactions are available for review through a public dashboard and on-chain records. The buyback is the first of five planned milestones ahead of Grvt 2.0, scheduled for the end of November 2026. Planned products include Grvt Earn, which targets yields of up to 11% from tokenized fixed-income assets; Stable Funding Perps for markets such as commodities, stocks and foreign exchange; and Yield as Margin, which would let eligible yield-bearing balances support trading positions. Yields are not guaranteed, and product terms and risks apply. Grvt says the products are intended to let users earn yield while keeping funds available for trading. The platform offers about 200 crypto and real-world asset perpetual futures markets and aims to exceed 1,000 markets by the end of 2026. GRVT launched in July 2026 and carries no ownership or profit rights. The burn may reduce token supply, while the product roadmap could support interest in GRVT, but neither guarantees demand or price gains.
Neutral
The completed GRVT buyback and permanent burn are modestly supportive in principle: removing 1.1 million tokens, nearly 1% of circulating supply at the time, may reduce available supply and attract short-term trader interest. However, the issuer has made no firm commitment to future purchases, so traders may be cautious about pricing in continued buyback demand. The planned products and expansion to more than 1,000 markets could strengthen the platform’s longer-term utility and potentially support demand for GRVT. Those plans are not yet proof of adoption, however, and the target yields are not guaranteed. The token also carries no ownership or profit rights. As a result, the news does not establish a reliable source of recurring demand or a direct link between platform growth and token value. Overall, supply reduction provides a limited positive signal, while execution, uptake and discretionary buybacks leave the likely price impact uncertain.
