Kraken Enables Tempo Network Deposits/Withdrawals for USDT0 & USDC.e

Kraken announced that USDT0 and USDC.e deposits and withdrawals are now live on the Tempo network. It says it is the first U.S. centralized exchange to natively support the payments-focused Layer 1 Tempo. With Tempo network support, Kraken clients can settle USDT0 and USDC.e in about 0.5 seconds and pay fees directly in USD stablecoins. Kraken also says this removes the need to hold a separate gas token for stablecoin withdrawals, aiming to reduce friction for stablecoin transfers into and out of the exchange. Kraken added that liquidity conditions must be met before trading opens on the Kraken App and Instant Buy. The post also highlights Tempo’s architecture for lower fees during peak usage and notes that users must deposit via the supported Tempo network to avoid lost funds. For traders, this is an infrastructure/access update for stablecoin payments, not a new spot listing, but it may improve stablecoin flow and onboarding for fintech and institutional payment use cases built on Tempo.
Neutral
This news is mainly about exchange access and settlement UX for stablecoin payments on the Tempo network. Because it does not introduce a new tradeable spot asset, it is less likely to create a direct, immediate price move in USDT or USDC. In the short term, improved deposit/withdrawal mechanics (sub-second settlement and stablecoin-native fee payment) could increase stablecoin throughput, which may slightly lift demand for stablecoins used on Kraken rails. In the long run, broader integration of the Tempo network could support institutional and fintech payment use cases, but the effect is gradual and more aligned with adoption than with speculative trading. Overall, the market impact on the mentioned cryptocurrency price is expected to be limited, so the view is neutral.
