Kraken Adds Arbitrum One Deposits and Withdrawals for USDG
Kraken now supports deposits and withdrawals of Global Dollar (USDG) on Arbitrum One. USDG is a US dollar-denominated stablecoin issued by Paxos and designed to be redeemable one-to-one for US dollars. On Arbitrum One, it is issued natively as an ERC-20 token, allowing direct settlement without a third-party bridge or the canonical bridge withdrawal delay.
USDG trading was already available on Kraken; the update adds Arbitrum One as a funding network. Users must select Arbitrum One on both the sending platform and Kraken, as deposits sent over unsupported or mismatched networks may be lost. Geographic restrictions may apply.

The announcement expands USDG’s funding options on Kraken but does not introduce new trading markets or change the stablecoin’s stated dollar peg. Its immediate effect is mainly operational: users can move USDG directly through Arbitrum One, potentially benefiting from a smoother transfer process and avoiding bridge-related delays. That could support usage of USDG and activity on Arbitrum, but the announcement alone is unlikely to materially affect broad crypto prices or market stability.
Similar exchange announcements adding deposit and withdrawal networks have generally had a limited market effect unless accompanied by new listings, incentives, or significant liquidity changes. In the short term, traders may monitor USDG deposits, exchange liquidity, and activity on Arbitrum, while taking care to use the correct network. Over the longer term, easier access may modestly help USDG adoption and on-chain settlement activity. However, this does not guarantee increased demand, and stablecoins can still trade away from their reference value in secondary markets or face reserve and redemption risks.
