LayerZero to Distribute Rewards to Sybil Bounty Hunters Post-ZRO Token Airdrop

LayerZero’s CEO Bryan Pellegrino announced the completion of the ’Witch Self-Reporting Program,’ identifying over 2 million suspect addresses initially, and after further evaluations with the help of Chaos Labs and Nansen, narrowed the list down to 803,093 valid addresses. LayerZero will release the final list for public scrutiny and start distributing rewards to Sybil bounty hunters on July 25, as part of its efforts to prevent Sybil attacks before the scheduled ZRO token airdrop in June. Participants of the bounty program, which launched on May 18, will receive 10% of the allocated tokens for each verified Sybil address they reported. This underscores LayerZero’s commitment to maintaining a secure and transparent ecosystem, with up to 15% of the airdrop rewards set aside for users who engaged in honest self-reporting.
Neutral
The news showcases LayerZero’s efforts to enhance security and transparency by addressing Sybil attacks through a well-organized bounty program. While it signals LayerZero’s robust measures to protect the ecosystem, its direct impact on market prices remains neutral as it focuses more on procedural integrity rather than immediate financial gains.
