Mantle Launches Five-Month Global Hackathon with $150K Prize Pool

Blockchain network Mantle (MNT) today kicked off its inaugural global hackathon, inviting developers, startups and solo creators worldwide to compete for a $150,000 reward pool. Running from October 22, 2025 to February 7, 2026, the online competition is supported by HackQuest and OpenBuild and features over six innovation tracks. Participants must build practical, scalable blockchain solutions that integrate Mantle’s Layer 2 ecosystem and address real user needs. Entries will be judged on scalability, design, technical execution, Mante integration and market potential. A judging panel of venture investors and DeFi experts—including 0x Todd and Trustless State—will oversee the review process. Mantle’s collaboration with Bybit aims to merge liquidity providers, real-world assets and developers, reinforcing the network’s growth strategy. MNT’s price dipped nearly 10% to $1.64 amid broader market weakness, but the hackathon is expected to boost token utility and trading volumes over the long term.

The five-month global hackathon emphasizes real-world projects and developer engagement, strengthening Mantle’s ecosystem and MNT utility. Historically, developer events on Layer 2 platforms can drive mid- to long-term token demand and trading volume—but immediate market impact is often muted. With MNT down 10% amid broader market weakness, the hackathon is unlikely to trigger a rapid price swing in the short term. However, by fostering practical innovation and boosting network activity, it lays the groundwork for potential bullish momentum in the months following the competition’s conclusion.
