Michael Page Q3 Gross Profit Returns to Growth
Michael Page reported third-quarter 2026 gross profit of £190.5 million, up 1.5% in constant currencies and 1.4% at reported rates year on year. It was the recruitment group’s first quarterly growth since Q4 2022. Michael Page also recorded a 6% rise in gross profit per fee earner compared with Q3 2025, reaching a higher Q3 productivity level than in its record year of 2022. About half of the group’s business was in growth. Fee-earner headcount fell by 63, or 1.3%, during the quarter, partly reflecting fewer new starters over the summer. The group ended the quarter with 4,851 fee earners and total headcount of 6,604. The update was presented by CFO Kelvin Stagg and CEO Nicholas Kirk.
Neutral
The update is about a recruitment company and contains no direct information on cryptocurrencies, blockchain projects or digital-asset markets. Its likely immediate effect on crypto trading and market stability is therefore limited, making a neutral assessment appropriate. The reported return to gross-profit growth and higher productivity may offer a small signal about conditions in the broader economy, but the figures are company-specific and do not establish a clear change in economic momentum. In past cases, employment or corporate earnings data have tended to affect crypto prices mainly when they materially shift expectations for interest rates, growth or risk appetite. Traders may watch broader labor-market data for those signals, but this update alone is unlikely to change short-term crypto positioning. Over the longer term, recruitment trends could contribute to assessments of economic health, yet any implications for digital assets would depend on wider data and central-bank policy.
