Microduck Preorders Near 20,000 After Huang’s Demo

Microduck preorders surged after Nvidia chief executive Jensen Huang demonstrated four of the small robots at the GTC event in Berlin on 21 October. More than 4,000 orders came in during the following 24 hours, bringing cumulative preorders close to 20,000, according to Hugging Face chief executive Clem Delangue. Developed by Pollen Robotics, a French company owned by Hugging Face, Microduck stands 25 centimetres tall and has 15 motors. It is priced at $399 before tax and shipping. Strong demand has pushed estimated delivery for new orders beyond Christmas 2026, while the company says its Reachy Mini robot may be an alternative for buyers seeking a Christmas delivery. Pollen Robotics also warns customers to order only through its official website amid reports of scam sites.

The news has no direct link to cryptocurrencies, blockchain networks or token markets, so its immediate effect on crypto trading and market stability is likely to be negligible. The increase in Microduck orders reflects consumer interest in robotics and AI, but it does not provide a clear signal about crypto prices, liquidity or fundamentals. In the short term, traders may mention the story alongside broader AI-related headlines. Past bursts of interest in AI products and Nvidia announcements have sometimes lifted sentiment around AI-themed crypto tokens, but such moves tend to depend on wider market conditions and token-specific developments. A robotics product launch alone is not a reliable catalyst for sustained gains. Over the longer term, advances in AI and robotics could influence narratives around automation or decentralized AI projects. Any effect would likely be indirect and would require concrete links, such as new blockchain integrations, funding or product adoption. Traders should therefore treat this as a technology-sector story, not a material crypto market driver.
