Mirae Asset and Grvt Begin Tokenised Funding Note Deal

Mirae Asset Securities (HK) has arranged tokenised funding notes that onchain platform Grvt has subscribed to, marking an initial step in their collaboration on tokenised securities. The size and terms of Grvt’s subscription have not been disclosed. Grvt may use its resulting exposure in connection with Grvt Earn, which it operates independently and offers only to eligible users in permitted jurisdictions. Mirae Asset does not endorse or operate Grvt Earn, which is not authorised by Hong Kong’s Securities and Futures Commission (SFC) or offered to the public in Hong Kong. The firms may explore tokenised Treasuries, corporate bonds and ETFs, subject to regulatory requirements and internal approvals; no further products or commitments have been announced. The deal extends Mirae Asset’s digital-asset activity in Hong Kong, following its digital bond launch in January 2026, retail digital-asset trading approval in April and MAPS app launch in July. Mirae Asset Financial Group reported more than US$1 trillion in client assets as of September 2026. For crypto traders, the tokenised funding note deal is an institutional adoption signal, but its exploratory scope and lack of disclosed size mean no direct impact on Grvt or broader crypto prices is established.
Neutral
The announcement describes a tokenised securities transaction, not a direct investment in or change to the supply, utility or adoption of a named cryptocurrency. Grvt’s subscription size is undisclosed, and further products remain exploratory and subject to approvals. In the short term, traders may read the deal as a modest signal of institutional interest in tokenisation, but it provides no clear catalyst for a specific token’s price or broader market stability. Over the longer term, any expansion into tokenised Treasuries, bonds or ETFs could support infrastructure and institutional participation in digital assets, but that prospect is conditional and does not establish a price impact for a cryptocurrency. Grvt Earn’s lack of Hong Kong SFC authorisation also limits the relevance of the announcement to the regulated Hong Kong retail market.
