Binance Hack: $242M Moved Across Crypto Networks
Blockchain analyst SomaXBT says attackers linked to the Binance hack moved about $242 million through TRON and cross-chain services in roughly two days. Tether froze $378.7 million in USDT soon after the incident, but funds continued to move through routes including THORChain, Relay, Chainflip and Symbiosis. Much of the transferred value reached Ethereum, while smaller amounts went to Bitcoin and other networks. The analysis estimates about $22 million was lost to fees, slippage and price movements.
At the time of the report, roughly $7.5 million remained on TRON, while attackers still controlled more than $3.5 billion in assets on other networks, including BTC, ETH, XRP and SOL. The Binance hack highlights how bridges and swap services can complicate crypto tracing and recovery. The fund movements could create selling pressure, but there is no evidence in the report that the assets were sold.
Neutral
The reported fund movements do not, by themselves, confirm that the assets have been sold, and the summaries provide no evidence of a direct price effect on a specific cryptocurrency. In the short term, traders may monitor TRX, ETH and other networks involved for unusual inflows, exchange deposits or signs of selling; the scale of the incident could also raise volatility and risk concerns. However, those are potential reactions rather than confirmed market effects. Over the longer term, the episode may prompt closer scrutiny of cross-chain services and asset-freezing capabilities, but the available information does not establish a sustained directional impact on the price of any one coin. The assessment is therefore neutral.
