NymVPN v2026.12 Adds Split Tunneling and New Pricing
Nym has released NymVPN v2026.12 for Android, iOS, Linux, macOS and Windows, building on the privacy and connectivity features introduced in v2026.11. The latest NymVPN update adds one-click connection modes, including Safest, Random, Favorites and Recents, making server selection faster.
NymVPN now supports geo-exclusion alongside split tunneling. Users can route services such as banks and government portals outside the VPN while protecting other traffic. Desktop geo-exclusion is currently available for Chinese IP addresses, with broader regional support planned. Earlier privacy improvements included Mixnet Tuning beta controls for cover traffic and mixing delays, Server Families warnings about potentially related entry and exit operators, and a 24-hour reset for fair-use bandwidth allowances.
The latest release improves cellular reliability through a redesigned WireGuard handshake, strengthens IPv6 DNS handling and fixes connection, startup and installation issues. It also adds five languages: Traditional Chinese, Traditional Chinese for Hong Kong, Japanese, Italian and Indonesian. Android users can disguise the app icon, while previous updates added stronger iOS ad blocking, faster connections and broader platform fixes.
Nym has introduced pricing of $8 per month, $6 per month on a six-month plan and $4 per month on an annual plan. The two-year plan has been retired, although existing subscribers keep their terms until renewal. A referral programme also offers NYM token rewards. Nym’s roadmap includes saved server profiles, QR-code support, expanded geo-exclusion, more languages and further decentralisation.
For crypto traders, this is mainly a product, privacy and user-adoption development rather than a direct token catalyst. Better usability and access in restricted regions could support long-term ecosystem visibility, but the immediate effect on NYM is likely limited.
Neutral
The update is unlikely to create a strong short-term price catalyst for NYM. It does not announce a major token utility change, network upgrade or material increase in token demand. Improved connection reliability, split tunneling, geo-exclusion, multilingual support and revised pricing may help NymVPN attract and retain users, while referral rewards could increase ecosystem engagement. However, the conversion from VPN adoption to sustained NYM buying pressure is uncertain, and traders may view the release as a routine product milestone. In the short term, NYM is more likely to follow broader crypto sentiment, liquidity and technical trends than this announcement. Over the longer term, stronger privacy features, decentralisation and adoption in restricted markets could support the project’s visibility and potentially improve sentiment, but that effect would depend on measurable user growth and token usage. The expected impact is therefore neutral.
