Paxos Adds XRP Trading and Custody for Institutions

Paxos has added XRP to its Crypto Brokerage platform, giving financial institutions access to XRP trading, custody, deposits and withdrawals through its infrastructure. The integration supports native XRP Ledger transactions and combines custody, settlement and trade execution, with orders routed across multiple venues. Partners decide whether and when to offer XRP, so the move does not confirm that any specific Paxos-connected platform has launched it. Paxos’s existing clients include PayPal, Venmo, Interactive Brokers, Charles Schwab and Mercado Libre, but their relationships with Paxos do not guarantee an XRP listing. At the time of the announcement, XRP had more than 8.1 million wallets and a market capitalisation of about $95 billion. Paxos said its brokerage supported 29 crypto assets and that it aimed to cover most of the top 50 by market capitalisation. It has operated as an OCC-supervised national trust bank since December 2025. The addition gives XRP another potential institutional distribution channel as Ripple expands services around XRP, RLUSD and the XRP Ledger. However, XRP was down more than 6% amid a broader crypto sell-off, and the announcement provides no evidence of new customer demand or increased trading volume. Ripple’s separate custody support for Canton assets and prime brokerage agreement with Brevan Howard point to wider institutional infrastructure growth, not an immediate XRP listing by a named partner.
Neutral
The Paxos integration is a potentially positive structural development for XRP: it gives institutions access to trading and custody infrastructure without requiring them to build those systems themselves. If partners adopt the service, broader availability could support XRP liquidity and institutional participation over the longer term. However, the announcement does not name a partner that has launched XRP, and there is no evidence yet of increased demand, trading volume or flows. In the short term, price action may remain more influenced by broader market conditions; XRP was already down more than 6% during a market-wide sell-off. Similar infrastructure announcements can improve sentiment but often have limited immediate price impact unless followed by a concrete listing, adoption figures or sustained inflows. The news therefore supports a neutral assessment of XRP’s direct price impact.
