PEARL Mining Returns About $2.50 a Day on an RTX 3080, Before Electricity Costs

PEARL (PRL), the native token of the Pearl blockchain, is mined through GPU matrix calculations used in AI workloads. The token fell about 29% from its 21 October high of $2.46 to $1.75 on 27 October, while its circulating market value stood at about $626 million. At that price, an RTX 3080 could theoretically mine 1.43 PRL a day, worth roughly $2.50 before electricity, pool fees and hardware depreciation. Actual returns also depend on mining difficulty and the amount of computing power shared across the network. Supply and hardware changes are key risks for PEARL miners. The network issues an estimated 988,000 new PRL daily, and only about 17% of its 2.1 billion maximum supply is circulating. A draft upgrade, PIP-3, would move mining to FP8 calculations and lists only Nvidia Hopper and Blackwell architectures, potentially excluding RTX 20, 30 and 40-series cards. No activation date has been set.
Bearish
The news is bearish for PEARL in the near term because the token has already fallen about 29% from its recent high, while estimated daily issuance is high relative to the circulating supply. The RTX 3080 revenue figure is gross mining value, not profit: electricity, pool fees and hardware costs could reduce returns further. These factors may encourage miners to sell newly mined PRL to cover operating expenses, adding potential supply to the market. The proposed PIP-3 upgrade is another risk for GPU miners. If implemented as currently described, it could exclude RTX 20, 30 and 40-series cards and prompt affected miners to sell equipment or accumulated tokens. However, the proposal is still a draft and has no activation date, so uncertainty may limit immediate market effects. The upgrade could also support continued mining with newer hardware, and the AI-focused proof-of-work design may attract interest if demand for Pearl’s services grows. As with other proof-of-work tokens, mining profitability announcements can draw short-term attention, but they do not guarantee sustained buying. Traders are likely to watch PEARL’s price, network difficulty, issuance and any confirmed PIP-3 timeline. In the longer term, token demand and adoption of the network’s AI services will matter more than theoretical GPU mining revenue. The bearish assessment reflects current price momentum, supply pressure and hardware-transition risk, rather than a prediction of a specific price move.
