PERPTools Raises $8M for AI Perpetual Trading
PERPTools has raised $8 million to build an AI-native decentralized perpetual trading platform. The funding includes a $3 million pre-seed round at a $30 million fully diluted valuation and a $5 million seed round at an $80 million valuation.
DEXTools Ventures and Orderly Network led the pre-seed round. BigBrain Holdings, NEAR, Animoca Brands, Sfermion and Shima Capital joined the seed financing. Founded by members of the DEXTools team, PERPTools uses Orderly Network’s omnichain order-book infrastructure and liquidity.
The platform supports leveraged long and short positions, cross-margin trading and non-custodial deposits. PERPTools also offers AI Arena, where users can create and fund autonomous onchain trading agents, and Tap Prediction, a prediction market linked to perpetual prices. The company reports about $240 million in private-beta trading volume. Tap Prediction offers potential payouts of up to 25 times the stake and has a prize pool exceeding $1 million.
PERPTools plans a token generation event in the fourth quarter of 2026, but has not announced tokenomics or a specific date. The PERPTools funding and reported trading volume highlight continued interest in DeFi derivatives and AI trading agents. Traders should nevertheless monitor leverage, automated-strategy, liquidity and scam risks. The platform’s long-term value will depend on user retention, real trading activity and execution.
Neutral
The news is neutral for the direct price outlook of the cryptocurrencies and tokens mentioned. PERPTools has attracted significant venture funding and reported $240 million in private-beta volume, which could improve confidence in decentralized derivatives and support demand for related infrastructure over the long term. However, PERPTools has not launched a token, announced tokenomics or provided a confirmed token-generation date, so the financing does not create an immediate tradable asset catalyst.
In the short term, traders may react positively to the funding, product expansion and reported prize pool, but the effect on NEAR, ORDER or DEXT is likely to be limited because no direct revenue-sharing or token-demand mechanism was disclosed. Over the longer term, sustained volume, liquidity, user retention and successful AI-agent adoption could benefit the broader DeFi derivatives sector. Conversely, leverage losses, automated trading failures, thin liquidity, regulatory concerns or security incidents could weaken sentiment. Historical reactions to venture funding are usually strongest for a project’s own token, and PERPTools currently has no live token, supporting a neutral classification.
