PREDICT Tokenomics: 16% of Supply Unlocks at TGE

Predict.fun has outlined the tokenomics for Predict Protocol’s PREDICT token, which has a total supply of 1 billion. The allocation includes 51.95% for the ecosystem and community, 26.05% for early supporters, 10% for core contributors, 8% for the treasury and 4% for liquidity. PREDICT will have 16% of its supply unlocked at the token generation event (TGE). Early supporters’ and core contributors’ allocations will remain locked for 24 months, then vest monthly over 36 months. All tokens are scheduled to unlock within five years. The first-season airdrop covers 70 million PREDICT, or 7% of supply. Recipients can claim 35% immediately or lock their allocation for 12 months to receive the full amount. Claim dates and final Predict Points results are due to be announced within 24 hours.
Neutral
The announcement is mixed for PREDICT and does not by itself establish a clear market direction. A 16% TGE unlock and a 7% first-season airdrop could create near-term selling pressure, particularly if recipients choose the immediate-claim option. Traders may watch claim rates, exchange liquidity and price action around the claim date for signs of distribution. However, the allocations for early supporters and core contributors are locked for 24 months and then vest over 36 months, limiting immediate insider supply. A similar pattern has appeared in other token launches: airdrops and initial unlocks can prompt short-term volatility, while longer-term effects depend on demand, liquidity and the project’s progress. The five-year unlock schedule is a potential source of future supply overhang, but the announcement provides no evidence of an immediate market imbalance. Therefore, the expected impact is neutral, with a risk of short-term volatility around the airdrop.
