Ripple Prime Launches RWA Perpetual Swaps Referencing Hyperliquid

Ripple Prime has launched RWA perpetual swaps for institutional clients, offering continuous trading across more than 100 reference markets, including individual stocks, indices, ETFs, metals, energy and foreign exchange. The contracts are cash-settled exposures: Ripple Prime acts as counterparty, while pricing references perpetual contracts listed by Trade.xyz on Hyperliquid. They confer no ownership of the underlying assets and involve no physical delivery. Clients can cross-margin positions with other assets on the platform, and eligible clients may use RLUSD as collateral. Market maker Virtu is among the early users. The service is currently offered under relevant British Virgin Islands licences, with expansion to other regions planned. The launch broadens institutional access to tokenised real-world asset derivatives and adds a traditional-market product to Ripple Prime’s crypto-focused services.
Neutral
The launch is strategically significant for institutional crypto infrastructure, but the article does not indicate immediate changes to token supply, demand, or market-wide liquidity. RWA perpetual swaps could attract more institutional activity by offering continuous exposure to traditional markets, cross-margining and potential RLUSD collateral use. That may support longer-term interest in Ripple’s institutional services and the use of stablecoins in trading. In the short term, however, the product is limited to eligible clients under BVI licences, and no trading volumes, adoption targets or material RLUSD usage figures are reported. As with previous launches of tokenised asset and crypto derivatives products, market reaction is likely to depend on measurable adoption, liquidity and regulatory expansion rather than the announcement alone. The likely immediate effect on broad crypto prices and market stability is therefore limited.
