Ritual Mainnet Launches With 18% RITUAL Circulating Supply
Ritual, a decentralised AI computing platform, has launched its mainnet and issued its native token, RITUAL. The token can pay for gas, model calls, HTTP requests and scheduled executions. RITUAL has an initial supply of 10 billion tokens, with no supply cap and an annual issuance rate of about 5%. An EIP-1559 mechanism burns base transaction fees. At launch, 1.8 billion RITUAL—18% of the initial supply—will be unlocked. The project will airdrop 50 million tokens, or 0.5% of the initial supply, to eligible Infernet node operators, Frenrug users and long-term community members. The airdrop is fully unlocked at launch. Coinbase announced spot trading for RITUAL on the same day. Core contributors and investors face a one-year lock-up, and all tokens are scheduled to unlock over four years.
Neutral
The launch has both positive and potentially dilutive implications for RITUAL, so the immediate market impact is best assessed as neutral. Mainnet availability gives the token a live use case for network fees, while Coinbase spot trading may improve access and liquidity. The airdrop and initial unlock can also attract attention and trading activity. However, 18% of the initial supply is unlocked at launch, and the 0.5% airdrop is immediately available to recipients, creating potential near-term selling pressure. The token has no supply cap and an annual issuance rate of about 5%, although EIP-1559 fee burns may offset some issuance depending on network usage. As with other newly listed tokens, short-term price action may be driven more by liquidity, exchange flows and early-holder behavior than by adoption fundamentals. Over the longer term, sustained demand for Ritual’s AI computing services and actual fee activity will be important in determining whether token use and burns can counterbalance issuance and unlocks. The article provides no trading-volume or price data, so it does not establish a clear directional signal.
