Robinhood Chain Hits $1.14B TVL as Morpho Enables Stock-Token Loans
Robinhood Chain’s total value locked (TVL) reached $1.14 billion as Robinhood Crypto confirmed eligible holders can use Stock Tokens as collateral to borrow stablecoins through Morpho. The move adds a new lending use case for Robinhood Stock Tokens and may bring more borrowing activity to Robinhood Chain.
DefiLlama lists $1.079 billion in stablecoins on the network, with USDG accounting for 65.67%. These figures are separate from TVL. Morpho’s Robinhood Chain deployment shows about $1.10 billion in deposits, $484.3 million in outstanding loans and $606.9 million in TVL across all collateral types. Stock-token markets include NVDA, GOOGL and AAPL collateral, each with a 62.5% liquidation threshold.
Robinhood says Stock Token price feeds update 24/5, while onchain trading may continue outside tokenization hours. Morpho liquidations depend on oracle prices and each market’s loan-to-value threshold, so price-feed timing and market liquidity are relevant risks for borrowers. Robinhood’s disclosures also exclude US persons from Stock Tokens, alongside restrictions in several other jurisdictions.
Neutral
The announcement is a positive development for Robinhood Chain’s utility, but its direct market impact is likely limited and mixed. Using Stock Tokens as collateral creates another borrowing channel and could attract users, liquidity and activity to Morpho’s deployment. The chain’s $1.14 billion TVL and $1.079 billion in stablecoins indicate an existing base, though the figures do not prove that the new stock-backed markets are driving that value.
For short-term traders, the news may prompt attention to Morpho and Robinhood Chain-related assets, but the article provides no evidence of a major inflow or a price catalyst for a specific token. Stock-backed borrowing also introduces liquidation exposure: oracle prices, loan thresholds and available liquidity can affect whether borrowers are liquidated and whether withdrawals are delayed. The 24/5 price-feed schedule, alongside the possibility of onchain trading beyond tokenization hours, is a risk users should monitor.
Longer term, tokenized equity collateral could support growth in onchain credit if adoption and liquidity deepen. Similar DeFi lending integrations have tended to matter most when they generate sustained deposits and borrowing demand, rather than simply announcing new functionality. Geographic restrictions, including the exclusion of US persons, and the lack of legal ownership rights in the underlying shares may constrain adoption. Overall, the development is constructive for product expansion but not, on its own, a clear directional signal for the broader crypto market.
