Samsung Wallet to Add USDC Transfers for US Galaxy Users

Samsung Wallet plans to launch USDC transfers for eligible US Galaxy users in the final week of October 2026, potentially reaching about 82 million devices. Eligible adults who complete account setup and identity checks will be able to hold and send USDC to compatible crypto wallets within seconds, with no Samsung transfer fee, or send money to eligible bank accounts in more than 60 countries, where recipients can receive local currency. Bank-transfer fees will be shown before confirmation, and receiving platforms may charge fees; gas-free transfers on Sui do not eliminate conversion or bank-payment costs. Samsung says it will not hold customer funds. Bastion will support the payment framework, Coinbase Prime Vault will provide secondary custody, and Solana and Sui will support blockchain transactions. The launch could expand stablecoin payments through a familiar mobile wallet, but its direct effect on USDC’s market price is likely limited. Online shopping and tap-to-pay are future plans, not current features.

The rollout may increase USDC’s visibility and practical use by making transfers available through Samsung Wallet, with support for crypto wallets and bank remittances across more than 60 countries. That could strengthen USDC’s payment utility over time, and traders may view the involvement of established custody and blockchain providers as supportive of adoption. However, the news is unlikely to move USDC’s price materially in the short term. USDC is designed to maintain a value near one US dollar, so increased usage does not generally translate into the kind of price appreciation seen in volatile crypto assets. Fees, eligibility, compliance and the actual volume of transfers will shape uptake. Longer term, broader distribution could reinforce USDC’s role in payments, but the launch alone does not change its peg or establish a direct catalyst for a sustained price move.
