Soter Insure Series B Adds SC Ventures and SBI Group

Digital asset insurer Soter Insure has added Standard Chartered’s SC Ventures and Japan’s SBI Group as strategic investors in its Series B funding round. Existing investor Token Bay Capital also increased its investment. Galaxy led the round, with Coinbase Ventures, Franklin Templeton and Brevan Howard Digital also participating. The funding amount was not disclosed. Soter Insure plans to use the proceeds to expand underwriting capacity, strengthen its underwriting and technology capabilities, and grow across Asia-Pacific, Europe and the United States. Headquartered in Abu Dhabi and operating from Bermuda, Soter Insure provides digital asset insurance products to financial institutions. The investment signals continued institutional backing for crypto insurance infrastructure, but no direct impact on cryptocurrency prices was specified.
Neutral
The funding is positive for Soter Insure’s business prospects and may support broader institutional adoption of digital asset insurance. However, the announcement concerns a private insurance company and does not identify a cryptocurrency, token, or direct change in trading supply and demand. Short-term price effects on crypto assets are therefore likely to be limited. Over the longer term, stronger insurance capacity and expansion into major regions could improve risk management for financial institutions active in digital assets, but any market benefit would be indirect and would depend on adoption. On the information provided, the expected price impact on specific cryptocurrencies is neutral.
