SharpLink $200M Ethereum staking via Lido, wstETH custody at Anchorage

Nasdaq-listed SBET (SharpLink) will stake $200 million worth of Ethereum through Lido, receiving wstETH in return. The wstETH tokens will be held in custody by Anchorage Digital Bank. Lido is a liquid staking protocol: Ethereum stakers help secure the network while avoiding full asset lockup. In exchange for depositing Ethereum, users receive wstETH, which accrues staking rewards over time. Lido currently manages about $16.5 billion in staked Ethereum, and its wstETH is used as collateral across 100+ DeFi protocols, supporting liquidity and adoption. For custody, Anchorage Digital Bank—a federally chartered digital asset bank with an OCC banking charter—will hold SharpLink’s wstETH. SharpLink previously partnered with Anchorage on other crypto initiatives, including a $200 million allocation for Linea L2 deployment. By routing through Lido instead of running validators, SharpLink avoids heavy infrastructure and maintenance. The tradeoff is a protocol fee, but liquid wstETH keeps flexibility to exit or redeploy within DeFi.
