Bitcoin Staking Reaches 735 BTC as STX Staking Rises

Stacks says its second Bitcoin staking bond sold out, attracting about 505 BTC after the first Genesis Bond drew 230 BTC. Across the first two bonding periods, Bitcoin staking reached approximately 735 BTC; nearly 483 BTC in the second round was staked through Stacking DAO’s stBTC liquid staking token. Stacks projects about 3% annual yield on stBTC, paid weekly in BTC, and says the token can be used as DeFi collateral. Following the PoX-5 upgrade on 30 July, STX staking rose more than 25%, from 392 million to 493 million tokens. The update also reports more than 1,000 BTC supplied on Zest, yearly highs in DEX volume and network revenue, and a record number of sBTC holders. Institutional participants and custody providers were also named, while a third Bitcoin staking bond is expected around November. The figures point to expanding Bitcoin staking and activity across Stacks DeFi, but do not establish a direct price effect or include independent verification.
Neutral
The update is a positive adoption signal for BTC and STX: the first two Stacks bonding periods attracted about 735 BTC, the second bond sold out, and STX staking rose more than 25%. Reports of increased DeFi liquidity and activity may support confidence in the ecosystem over the longer term. However, these are network-use figures, not evidence of immediate buying pressure or a sustained price trend. The summaries provide no market-price, volume-reaction or independent verification data, and staking growth can reflect token lock-up rather than new spot demand. Short-term trading effects are therefore uncertain; traders may monitor BTC and STX prices, spot volumes, and continued participation in future bonds before treating the figures as a directional catalyst. On balance, the price impact on BTC and STX is best categorised as neutral.
