Strategy Targets Global Leadership as Bitcoin Holdings Top 840,000 BTC
Strategy CEO Phong Le says the company aims to become the world’s largest company and continue expanding its Bitcoin holdings. By late October 2026, Strategy held more than 840,000 BTC, making it the largest corporate Bitcoin holder. It bought about 175,000 BTC and sold roughly 7,000 this year, for net purchases of around 168,000 BTC. Le said the sales reflected the company’s cost of capital, not a bearish view of Bitcoin, and indicated that accumulation could resume.
Strategy also aims to build a digital credit ecosystem valued at about $15 billion and provide markets and liquidity for the digital asset economy. Le said daily dividends could help strengthen its digital credit, STRC preferred stock and MSTR equity, supporting further Bitcoin purchases and growth in Bitcoin per share. The company plans to combine its software business with Bitcoin-related capital markets activities, an ambition Le has likened to becoming the “JPMorgan of Bitcoin.” The latest details add evidence of substantial 2026 net buying, but no new purchase, specific target or timeline was announced.
Bullish
Strategy’s reported net purchases of about 168,000 BTC in 2026 and holdings above 840,000 BTC point to substantial corporate demand, which may support Bitcoin sentiment and reinforce expectations of continued institutional accumulation. Le’s comments that sales reflected capital costs rather than a bearish outlook, alongside plans to use financing products and daily dividends to support further purchases, add to that positive signal. In the short term, however, the comments do not confirm a new purchase or give a timeline, so the immediate price effect may be limited and traders may focus on actual acquisition disclosures and Bitcoin’s broader market conditions. Over the longer term, continued buying could tighten available supply and strengthen demand expectations; conversely, financing costs or further sales could temper the impact. On balance, the accumulation figures and stated strategy are supportive for Bitcoin, though not a guarantee of price gains.
