Strive SATS IPO Raises $630M, With Bitcoin Buying Uncertain
Bitcoin treasury company Strive has launched trading of its SATS preferred shares on Nasdaq after raising $630 million in an upsized IPO. It sold 7 million shares at $90 each. SATS carries a 15% annual dividend based on a $100 face value, equivalent to a 16.67% yield at the IPO price, with payments made every business day. Strive’s existing SATA product has a variable dividend.
Strive expects net proceeds of about $608.15 million after costs. It says the funds may support several purposes, including Bitcoin purchases and income-generating assets, but has not disclosed how much will go to BTC. At a hypothetical BTC price of $82,500, the net proceeds could buy about 7,372 BTC. If all were allocated to Bitcoin, Strive’s reported holdings of 36,818 BTC could rise to roughly 44,190, potentially surpassing Metaplanet. That remains a scenario, not a confirmed purchase plan.
Strive has separately disclosed buying 4,045 BTC between October 12 and 16 and is described in the report as the fourth-largest corporate Bitcoin holder. The company says it has no debt, bonds, credit lines or leveraged positions. Its common stock, ASST, rose 4% on Tuesday. Traders will be watching future Bitcoin purchase disclosures and SEC filings to learn how much of the IPO capital supports BTC accumulation.
Bullish
The news is mildly bullish for BTC because Strive has raised substantial capital and has a stated intention to use some proceeds for Bitcoin purchases. Its recent 4,045 BTC acquisition and large existing treasury reinforce the possibility of continued corporate demand. However, the IPO proceeds have multiple potential uses, and Strive has not confirmed an allocation to BTC. The estimate that it could buy about 7,372 BTC is conditional, not a forecast or commitment. In the short term, traders may respond to any confirmed purchase disclosures, while the IPO announcement alone is unlikely to establish sustained spot-market demand. Over the longer term, actual allocations could add to corporate accumulation and support sentiment, but the effect would depend on execution, BTC market liquidity, and broader risk appetite. The company’s unleveraged position may reduce financing-related risk, but it does not remove Bitcoin’s wider volatility. The bullish classification reflects potential demand rather than a guaranteed price move.
