Symbiotic, Chainlink & Lombard Launch Cross-Chain Bitcoin Security
Symbiotic has teamed up with Chainlink and Lombard Finance to launch a new cross-chain Bitcoin security solution for Lombard Staked Bitcoin (LBTC). The partnership integrates Chainlink’s Cross-Chain Interoperability Protocol (CCIP) with Symbiotic’s permissionless restaking framework, creating a dual-layer protection system that secures LBTC transfers across multiple blockchains. As part of this rollout, Symbiotic opened two staking vaults holding $100 million in LINK and 20 million in Lombard’s upcoming BARD token, allowing users to earn up to 15% APY while enhancing cross-chain Bitcoin security. Lombard will reveal BARD tokenomics on September 16 and conduct an airdrop on September 18, after which holders can stake BARD via the Lombard app to further secure cross-chain Bitcoin security for LBTC. The modular architecture lets partners adjust security levels without disrupting operations, positioning this model as foundational infrastructure for next-generation DeFi security.
Bullish
By combining Chainlink CCIP and Symbiotic’s permissionless restaking, the partnership establishes a dual-layer security system that significantly reduces risks for LBTC transfers. The high-yield staking vaults for LINK and BARD, along with the forthcoming BARD tokenomics release and airdrop, are poised to attract fresh capital and trading volume. This enhanced cross-chain Bitcoin security framework boosts confidence in LBTC and its ecosystem tokens, likely driving up demand and prices in both the short and long term.
