Tokenized CRCL Nears $400M as Holders Top 42,200
Tokenized CRCL has grown rapidly, reaching about $388 million in value—roughly 2% of Circle Internet Group’s $19.4 billion market capitalisation. The market nearly doubled from its late-August level, topped $406 million in early November 2026 and grew 2,961% year over year by late October. More than 42,200 wallets held tokenized CRCL by October 20, while net minting added about $345 million over the previous year.
Circle does not issue these tokens. Third-party platforms custody underlying CRCL shares and issue tokens designed to track their price. Binance bStocks, xStocks and Ondo Finance account for about 94% of supply; BNB Chain holds roughly 62% of market value, with Solana also an important venue for decentralised trading. xStocks’ CRCLx led holder counts at about 20,800, followed by a Robinhood-linked version at 12,700 and Ondo’s CRCLon at 4,800. Binance also offers CRCLb.
Tokenized CRCL provides economic exposure to Circle shares, not voting rights, and may offer 24/7 trading, fractional ownership and DeFi use. About $7.7 million of CRCLx was deposited in DeFi, up from roughly $2.9 million in mid-August, with activity reported on Raydium, Uniswap and Kamino Lend. The expansion points to rising onchain demand and could support purchases of underlying shares, but traders should watch fragmented liquidity, concentration among issuers and chains, and custody, smart-contract and 1:1 backing risks.
Neutral
The news is primarily about tokenized exposure to Circle’s CRCL stock, rather than a direct development affecting the price of a cryptocurrency. In the short term, the rapid growth in token holders and DeFi deposits may lift interest in the related platforms and chains, but the summaries do not establish a clear, sustained effect on BNB, SOL or other crypto-asset prices. Trading may also be shaped by fragmented liquidity and differences between token prices and the underlying stock.
Longer term, the growth could signal stronger demand for onchain real-world assets and potentially increase activity on the networks and DeFi venues used for these tokens. However, the tokens rely on third parties to custody shares and maintain backing, and holders lack shareholder voting rights. Concentration among a few issuers and on BNB Chain, alongside custody, smart-contract and redemption risks, limits the case for a reliably positive effect on crypto prices. Overall, the direct price impact on the cryptocurrencies mentioned is unclear, supporting a neutral classification.
