Tokenized Stocks in DeFi Top $300M as Deposits Surge

Deposits of tokenized stocks in DeFi protocols exceeded $300 million in September and October 2026, up sharply from an estimated $15 million to $22 million in January. The reported year-on-year increase varies by calculation, ranging from 1,961% to the headline figure of 2,451.5%. Solana and Robinhood Chain each held roughly $87 million to $98 million in tokenized stock deposits, while BNB Chain held about $36 million. Kraken parent Payward’s xStocks accounted for approximately 58% of deposits, or $111 million across 15 protocols. Around 65% of funds were in liquidity pools and 28% in lending and borrowing markets. The growth followed the launch of Binance’s bStocks in June and Robinhood’s stock tokens and chain in July. DeFi deposits represent about 6% to 8% of the estimated $3 billion to $3.8 billion tokenized-equity market. Despite rapid growth in tokenized stocks, the market remains relatively small and concentrated among a few issuers and networks, with liquidity-pool activity dependent on providers maintaining their positions.
Neutral
The report points to rising adoption of tokenized stocks in DeFi, but it does not establish a direct catalyst for the price of major cryptocurrencies. More than $300 million in deposits is meaningful for this emerging market, yet it remains a small share of the estimated $3 billion to $3.8 billion tokenized-equity market and is highly concentrated: xStocks accounts for about 58% of deposits, while a few networks hold most of the value. That concentration and the reliance on liquidity providers could amplify volatility if funds move out of pools or confidence in an issuer or network weakens. In the short term, traders may pay closer attention to activity on Solana, Robinhood Chain and BNB Chain, as well as to liquidity and lending metrics for tokenized equities. However, the figures alone do not signal broad buying or selling pressure in SOL, BNB or ETH, and the article provides no evidence of a material change in market-wide liquidity or stability. The differing reported growth rates also warrant caution when comparing headline figures. Longer term, continued growth could support the wider real-world-asset (RWA) and DeFi narrative by bringing more equity-linked assets on-chain and creating demand for trading, lending and liquidity services. Similar to earlier tokenization and DeFi expansion cycles, adoption headlines can boost interest in related projects, but sustained price effects generally depend on measurable usage, durable liquidity, regulatory clarity and whether value accrues to the associated networks or tokens. On balance, the news is structurally constructive for tokenization but neutral for the broader crypto market without clearer evidence of direct token demand.
