TON Tech Launches Agentic Wallets for Telegram AI Payments

TON Tech launched “Agentic Wallets” on April 28, 2026, introducing an open, non-custodial standard that lets Telegram AI agents hold and spend TON without new user approval on every transaction. Key change: previously, Telegram AI agents were mostly advisory because acting financially on-chain required either full key access or step-by-step confirmations. With Agentic Wallets, each agent gets a dedicated onchain wallet funded by the user. The user retains ownership via their main wallet, can revoke access at any time, and no intermediary custody is used. Operational design: a one-time setup asks the user to create/fund the agent wallet and confirm the scope. After that, routine actions can run autonomously within the balance/budget assigned to the agent. Why it matters for builders: the standard is designed to integrate with existing TON infrastructure and does not require upgrades to current TON wallets. TON Tech positions it as open and vendor-neutral (part of “The Open Platform”), including MCP and CLI tools and compatibility with major agent frameworks. Potential use cases for traders and DeFi users: budget-capped trading bots, staking and portfolio-management agents, and automated subscriptions/API payments—without routing funds through a custodian. TON Tech’s head, Andrew Grekov, said the model enables agents to “communicate, but transact… without ever touching their keys.” Bottom line: the TON Tech Agentic Wallets standard expands Telegram’s AI agents from planning into automated onchain execution, directly increasing the real-time utility of TON-enabled bot workflows.
