TRON Proposal 108 Activates Storage Upgrade as TRX Gains 2%
TRON Proposal 108 took effect on November 2 after approval by the network’s Super Representatives. The upgrade enables network parameter 102, introducing an optimized storage feature for the TRON Virtual Machine (TVM) intended to improve smart contract reliability. The proposal received 26 recorded approvals, above the 18-approval threshold required among TRON’s 27 active Super Representatives. Node operators were instructed to install GreatVoyage-v4.8.2.4 before activation.
The change does not directly affect TRX supply, staking rewards or transaction fees. It may support confidence in TRON’s infrastructure, but any longer-term benefit depends on developers’ adoption and network activity. TRON reported about $2.21 trillion in stablecoin settlement during the third quarter of 2026.
TRX rose around 2% in 24 hours to near $0.32 on November 3, but remained down more than 4% over the month. Traders are watching resistance near $0.325; a sustained break could put $0.33 and $0.34 in focus. Support around $0.314–$0.316 is a key downside level, with $0.30 a possible target if it fails.
Neutral
The direct market impact is neutral. Proposal 108 is a technical reliability upgrade, not a change to TRX tokenomics: it does not alter supply, staking rewards or fees. Such infrastructure improvements can support confidence and network use over time, but traders typically need evidence of adoption or higher activity before assigning a lasting price premium. Similar protocol upgrades across crypto markets have often produced limited or short-lived price reactions unless accompanied by strong usage growth or broader market momentum.
In the short term, TRX’s roughly 2% daily rebound may draw attention to the $0.325 resistance level, while the recent $0.314–$0.316 area and the $0.30 psychological level remain downside references. A break above resistance could encourage momentum buying, but the article provides no evidence that the upgrade itself caused the rebound. The token’s monthly decline also signals that the broader trend remains a consideration.
Longer term, more dependable smart contract storage could benefit TRON applications if developers adopt the change and activity expands. The network’s reported stablecoin settlement volume is a relevant measure of usage, but settlement figures alone do not guarantee sustained demand for TRX. Traders should therefore distinguish the positive infrastructure development from near-term price confirmation and monitor network activity, TRX volume and broader market conditions.
