Crypto Wallet Phishing: CZ Flags Fake Trust Wallet Site

CZ warned users about a crypto wallet phishing site impersonating Trust Wallet at trastwallet.cam, a “.cam” domain that can be mistaken for “.com”. Security researcher Anurag said the site claims users need to review a transfer and prompts them to connect a wallet. Its script can scan balances in Trust Wallet, Phantom and OKX Wallet, then prepare a transfer to a fixed address. Transaction signing was disabled when the site was reported. The crypto wallet phishing attempt poses a risk to users who connect wallets or approve unexpected transactions, but no market-wide incident was reported. Traders should verify website addresses and avoid unfamiliar links.
Neutral
The incident is a targeted wallet-security threat, not a reported compromise of Trust Wallet itself or a market-wide event. It therefore has no clear direct effect on the price of a specific cryptocurrency. In the short term, affected users may avoid the site, review wallet permissions or move funds, while security warnings could prompt brief caution around the named wallet services. Over the longer term, the episode may reinforce demand for safer wallet practices and scrutiny of dApps, but it does not establish a lasting change in token fundamentals. Traders should monitor for confirmed losses or broader service disruptions; absent such developments, the expected price impact remains neutral.
