XAUa Gold Token Launches on Sui With PAS Controls

Hong Kong-regulated gold token XAUa launched on Sui on October 28, 2026, expanding beyond its earlier issuance on Ethereum. Each XAUa represents one gram of 99.99% pure, LBMA-certified gold held by Brinks in Hong Kong. AlphaToken issues the token, while TBook manages on-chain distribution to eligible buyers. Sui’s Permissioned Asset Standard (PAS) checks transfers against compliance rules and rejects transactions that fail validation. TBook has also rebuilt and migrated its vault issuance platform to PAS, allowing other real-world asset (RWA) issuers to create compliant vaults on Sui. The launch adds a gold-backed RWA use case to Sui, but restricted access may limit liquidity and reach. It is a development in tokenization rather than a clear near-term price catalyst for SUI.
Neutral
The launch gives Sui another real-world asset use case and could support its longer-term positioning in compliant tokenization. TBook’s PAS-based issuance platform may also make it easier for additional issuers to deploy regulated assets on the network. However, XAUa is restricted to eligible holders, which may limit adoption, trading liquidity and its connection to open DeFi. The news does not establish material demand for SUI or provide evidence of a near-term change in network activity. Traders may view the announcement as a modest ecosystem development, but absent broader adoption or stronger activity indicators, a sustained price response is uncertain. The expected direct impact on SUI is therefore neutral.
